Covergirl "Lav-Endure" Swatches and Review

DISCLOSURE - This polish was purchased by me.

Hi there! Tonight I have a drugstore polish for you all! If you've been following my blog, you know I have a obsession love of pastel shades this spring. I'd been looking for a super white and creamy purple for quite some time, and when I saw Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant "Lav-Endure," I knew I needed to try it out!

"Lav-Endure" is a very white-based pastel lavender polish. It's not a super unique shade because pastels are everywhere this spring; however, at just $3.99, this polish was a must-try!

Unlike the color; the consistency wasn't my favorite. It was rather thick and gloopy, and made it hard to apply in nice clean, thin coats. If you've ever tried Julep polishes, they are very similar. I added a drop of lacquer thinner to make it easier to work with. I realize that consistency is a matter of personal preference, so if you prefer your polishes thicker - you will enjoy this straight out of the bottle!

The brush, also, was not the best in my opinion. I'd say it's similar to Essie's brushes; a little longer and thinner. This shape makes it hard to fan out the brushes for larger nail beds (like mine) and apply a clean coat. The longer brushes also made excess polish from the plastic part of the brush dip down onto the bristles. Again, a matter of personal preference.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the cap was also less than user-friendly. The clunky square shape made it hard to grip and hold on to. It makes for a beautiful bottle, but isn't the best for application. I'd like it best if you could 'pop' off the square cap and have a circular grip (think Butter London).

Now, despite the challenges in both application and consistency, the color is beautiful. It is such a clean, fresh look on the nails that is right on trend for spring. It would work great with any skin tone, I think.

Although this line is intended to be worn without a top coat (Hence the name, "Nail Gloss") the application was a bit bumpy and streaky and I added a coat of Seche Vite to even it all out."Lav-Endure" was quite shiny on its own, however.

Onto the swatches!

Although this polish isn't perfect in terms of application and formula consistency, I think it's a fairly good overall pick for the drugstore. For just $3.99, I can be a bit more flexible working with the drawbacks. If you're looking for a beautiful pastel purple and don't want to break the bank - give Covergirl "Lav-Endure" a shot!
